FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

SensorUp Inc. and Vertex Resource Group Ltd. Partner to Enhance Methane Emissions Management for Oil & Gas Sector

Vertex Joins ‘Powered By SensorUp’ Program to Expand Services and Enhance Operator Solutions

Calgary, Alberta, [Sept 17, 2024] — SensorUp Inc. and Vertex Professional Services Ltd. are pleased to announce a strategic partnership set to revolutionize emissions management in the oil and gas industry. SensorUp, a leader in methane emissions management solutions, will empower Vertex, one of North America’s largest emissions services providers, through the “Powered By SensorUp” program. This collaboration will see Vertex integrating SensorUp’s market-leading Emissions Operations and Leak Detection and Repair (LDAR) Advanced Operations solutions into their extensive service offerings allowing SensorUp to access the Vertex client base.

Vertex, already a leader in emissions verification, regulatory support, deployment of new air equipment, and research services, will now further elevate its capabilities, setting a new standard in emissions management. This partnership marks a significant step forward in the energy sector's quest for more efficient and effective environmental stewardship.

Vertex can now harness SensorUp’s platform to deliver more precise and effective emissions management solutions for oil and gas operators:

  • Monitoring and Reporting: Vertex will utilize SensorUp’s Emissions Operations platform to provide its clients with monitoring and reporting of methane emissions. This capability will allow operators to gain immediate insights into their emissions levels, helping them maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and proactively manage their environmental obligations.
  • Proactive Leak Detection and Repair: Using SensorUp’s LDAR Advanced Operations solution, Vertex offers enhanced leak detection and repair services. By using SensorUp’s advanced analytics, Vertex helps operators identify and prioritize repairs, seamlessly integrating into workflows supported by ERP systems like SAP and IBM Maximo, as well as existing field data tools. This ensures efficient, data-driven emissions management that is aligned with operational processes.
  • Comprehensive Data Integration and Strategic Opportunities: SensorUp’s platform will enable Vertex to integrate emissions data from various sources—such as their ground-based OGI sensors, truck-based sensors, and methane LiDAR camera —into a single, unified system. This represents an evolution in Vertex’s business model towards embracing alternative detection technologies while still providing boots-on-the-ground service. By adopting this system, Vertex will continue to build domain expertise in deploying alternative emissions detection technologies, positioning Vertex as the go-to deployment and dispatch partner for field services. This value proposition is central to the “Powered By SensorUp” program, allowing Vertex to offer comprehensive, technology-driven solutions to meet clients’ regulatory obligations while expanding its role in emissions management.
  • Enhanced Emissions Verification: The SensorUp-Vertex partnership will harness advanced data capabilities to enhance Vertex’s emissions verification services. By integrating SensorUp’s Emissions Operations platform, Vertex will provide real-time monitoring and reporting, enabling faster leak detection and repair. This data-driven approach will serve as a robust verification tool, ensuring clients meet regulatory standards with precision and accountability while optimizing resource allocation for more efficient and environmentally responsible operations.

The partnership between SensorUp and Vertex brings significant benefits to mutual customers, particularly in navigating the complex landscape of emissions management in the oil and gas sector. By combining SensorUp’s technological capabilities with Vertex’s deep industry expertise, operators will have access to an integrated solution that addresses both the detection and management of methane emissions:

  • Improved Regulatory Compliance: SensorUp’s technology and Vertex’s environmental expertise combine to offer oil and gas operators a more streamlined and accurate way to comply with regulatory standards. The ability to generate real-time reports and data will simplify compliance processes, reduce the risk of penalties, and ensure that operators can confidently meet current and future regulations.
  • Enhanced Data-Driven Decision-Making: Operators will benefit from a more comprehensive understanding of their emissions data through this partnership. Integrating real-time monitoring and analytics with Vertex's environmental consulting services will enable operators to make more informed decisions regarding emissions management and regulatory compliance, ensuring they remain ahead of industry requirements.
  • Cost Efficiency Through Targeted Interventions: The integration of SensorUp’s data-driven approach allows Vertex to provide targeted leak detection and repair services (LDAR), which can lead to more efficient resource use. By focusing on the most critical areas first, operators can manage their maintenance budgets more effectively while meeting environmental and regulatory obligations.

Vertex joined the "Powered By SensorUp" partner program, enabling third-party data and service providers to integrate their products and services into the SensorUp platform. This allows partners to display their branding within the SensorUp interface alongside the Powered By SensorUp logo, adding significant value to the platform and allowing them to resell SensorUp's comprehensive emissions management solutions as part of their offerings. The program fosters innovation and collaboration and is open to companies worldwide, focusing on managing methane emissions and enriching the ecosystem for oil and gas operators.

“We are excited to collaborate with Vertex, a company that shares our dedication to enhancing the environmental performance of the oil and gas industry,” said Dr. Steve Liang, CTO and Founder of SensorUp. “This partnership will enable us to deliver solutions that not only help operators manage their emissions more effectively but also ensure they remain compliant with evolving regulations.”

Cam Rollins, Team Lead - Emissions Assurance at Vertex, shared, “Joining the ‘Powered By SensorUp’ program is a transformative step for us. We envision a future where our clients can go from repairing leaks in 30 days to just 30 minutes or eventually identifying a potential leak source before it starts. SensorUp’s platform empowers us to offer efficient and cost-effective solutions, lightening our clients’ workload and ensuring they meet regulatory demands with precision and accountability.
